CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
All feld trips have been canceled until further notice. We will continue to asses the situation and update this space accordingly. Going outside and enjoying nature is a great way to relieve stress and pass these trying times. We encourage you to do so while practicing responsible social distancing.
Our in-person meetings at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens have been suspended until the University allows gatherings to take place. To view our online Zoom programs, you will need access to an internet-capable computer, phone, or similar device. An announcement of the web address to view the program will be on our web site, Facebook page, and on the Birders email list a few days before the program. We may also add more online programs for July and August, which will be announced on the same internet platforms.

Searles Nature Preserve
Come out to help remove invasive plants and shrubs from WAS's own Searles Nature Preserve on Bolla Road in Augusta TWP. Twice per year we meet to help keep Searles Nature Preserve growing and looking good. The Searles Preserve is a great place to see songbirds in migration. Bring your own water, gloves, loppers, clippers and/or handsaws. Some tools will also be provided. No need to preregister, but social distancing rules will apply. We will need to keep our masks on throughout the entire workday and stay 6 feet apart. We can't wait to see you there! WAS members and non-members are encouraged to participate. The rain date, Saturday November 7, 11-2:00 will only be used for extreme weather on Nov. 1.
Minors traveling on Washtenaw Audubon Society field trips without a parent or guardian must bring with them a completed and signed copy of the consent form available by clicking here: Field Trip Permission, Medical Release, and Waiver of Liability (PDF)
