CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
All feld trips have been canceled until further notice. We will continue to asses the situation and update this space accordingly. Going outside and enjoying nature is a great way to relieve stress and pass these trying times. We encourage you to do so while practicing responsible social distancing.
Our in-person meetings at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens have been canceled until further notice. However, we are reviewing the possibility of bringing these programs to your home computers via webinars. Thus, the meetings will remain on our online calendar for now. Check back here as this situation evolves.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens
Join Len Sander for a photographic tour of Northern California birding sites and birds. Northern California is home to many iconic birds, including Marbled Murrelet, Northern Spotted Owl, Hermit Warbler, and California Condor. Retired University of Michigan professor Len Sander is an avid birder, photographer, and world traveler.
Come at 7:10pm for a chance to talk with fellow birders, and enjoy snacks before the program begins.
WAS programs are free and open to the public. Membership is not required, though we would welcome your membership to help with our environmental and educational activities. Programs are held on the third Wednesday of the month at the U-M Matthaei Botanical Gardens, 1800 Dixboro Road, Ann Arbor. In addition to the program, hear news of the latest critter sightings and field trips, and enjoy tasty snacks following the program. Please note: The Matthaei Botanical Gardens charges for parking at the rate of $1.20 an hour, enforced 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm. Members of the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum park for free.
